THE PROCESS OF SHEABUTTER

Sheabutter is extracted from the sheanut tree, which is abundant in Northern Ghana. Sheabutter is a very nutritious natural product which can be used in many purposes such as cooking (oil and processing butter), beautification (body and hair products), medication of diseases and illness (boils and herbal products) and light in lamps.

THE PROCESSING OF SHEABUTTER TAKES 3 DAYS.

Day 1: The grinding of the sheanuts

It starts with buying the fresh sheanuts, mostly at the market

After this product A is fried for a few hours while continuously stirring. This is taken back to the grinding mill for further grinding to a liquid form (product B).

Product B needs to put down for a day. This enables a better extraction of the sheabutter.

Day 2: The beating and stirring

At day 2 product B is ready for further processing. It is beaten and stirred by hands for a few hours to get the sheabutter out (product C).

Product C is cooked for a few hours to separate the dirt from the sheabutter. The oil is taken out and placed in a container. This needs to be put down for a day to gain the solid form.

Day 3: The end product: SHEABUTTER

The sheabutter is cooked again to remove any the last dirt.

After this the oil is placed on a pot and stirred till it gets ticker (not on fire).

The sheabutter is now finished!!!!!!!!!!!
