The children’s education project

Education is the only way out of poverty and a fundamental building block for economic development, democracy and poverty reduction”

There is a lot to say about the importance of education.

Children are being deprived from an education, higher future productivity (as a result of the gained human capital), higher wages and thus a chance out of poverty.

CHILDREN NOT IN CLASS VILLAGE LIFE

The most important reason why parents do not send their children to school is lack of capital

  • The majority of the mothers are involved in petty trading.

  • The poor working conditions and lack of money to do serious business prevents the parents from earning enough money to send the children to school. Almost all the money is invested in the business.

  • The majority of the fathers are farmers

  • The farming is also not what it used to be due to the poor weather conditions, poor soil fertilities and poor farming equipment. There isn’t even enough money to buy the fertilizers to improve the farming.

  • Nowadays, the public schools (government schools) in Ghana are “free.”

  • Even when education is free parents often can’t afford the necessary schoolbooks, uniforms, chop money etc.

  • The children’s educational project is about finding sponsors who will support the financial needs of the education of a child.

The biggest differences between these two schools are:

Private school Public school

* High expenses

* Low expenses

* High Admission fee and admission form * Low admission fee and admission form
* Monthly school fees
* High monthly expenses such as PTA * Low monthly expenses such as PTA
* Good educational system * Poor education system
*Good teaching, monitoring and equipment * Poor teaching, monitoring and equipment
* This also includes other expenses dictated per school such as furniture fee, development etc.

Of course we would prefer our children to acquire the best education, which is the private education. However, our priority lies at providing the children with an education.

Due to the high costs of the private schools we have selected one of the best public schools. A donor can choose to either send the child to public or to a private school. in the area to

The progress of the children is frequently monitored. At this project it also possible that the sponsor of a child can to come to Ghana to visit the children and stay in town or in the village. The arrangements can be made by us (after collaboration with you). This offers you the possibility to see the progress and the situation of the child at first hand.
